Iconic British designer Henry Holland is back with a bold, active collection exclusive to Mr Price.
Take a young British designer, famous for his tongue-in-cheek humour and add a playful on-the-rise model with rainbow coloured hair and you’ve got the makings of a seriously cool collaboration!
After two sell-out collaborations with Mr Price, Henry Holland is back with a limited edition ladieswear collection, inspired by summer’s active trend. While his previous collections focused on tees and dresses, this collection features a full range of hot silhouettes. Think fresh prints, clashing colours and a heavy dose of Henry-style humour across matchy sets and sporty separates!
I’m definitely loving this sportswear inspired collection, It’s undoubtedly one of this season’s hottest trends and one I’ve fully embraced.
Fronting the campaign is the fashion industry’s model of the moment, Chloe Norgaard. With her one-of-a-kind style, effervescent energy and multi-hued locks that she dyes herself, Chloe was the obvious choice for Henry’s eye-popping collection! She’s a festival favourite who cites Jimmy Hendrix and Gwen Stefani among her inspirations. When she’s not jetting into a new city, the free-spirited model loves to spin the decks - a passion she uncovered while living in Tokyo. Earlier this year, she rocked the runway for New York Fashion Week and cemented her status as a festival superstar at Coachella.
The man behind the lens for Henry Holland X MRP is world-renowned photographer, Kevin Mackintosh. Born in South Africa, Mackintosh now resides in the United Kingdom and works between New York, Paris and London where he shot the campaign for MRP.
What makes this collab even cooler and unbelievably spectacular is its reach beyond fashion to make a real difference in the lives of young South Africans. For every piece sold, R10 will be donated to the MRP Foundation programmes. Over the past two years, Henry Holland has raised over one million rand for the MRP Foundation through his collaborations with MRP. Building on the success of this, MRP are thrilled to welcome Henry as the first international ambassador for the MRP Foundation’s Ambassador & Mentorship programme.
The newly-launched Ambassador & Mentorship programme provides significant individuals at the top of their field within the fashion and design world with the opportunity to represent the organisation while allowing them the chance to mentor previously unemployed young South Africans who are enrolled in the MRP Foundation’s JumpStart Programme.
The JumpStart Manufacturing Programme directly addresses South Africa’s youth unemployment challenge by developing manufacturing skills and facilitating and associated trainee placement programme within MRP’s local supply chain. On the 27th of November, the MRP Foundation will announce the top-performing student from their 2014 JumpStart Manufacturing pre-production programme and award him/her with a week of international work experience and mentorship at the House of Holland in London with Henry and his design team.
On reuniting with MRP, Henry shared his enthusiasm, “For my third collection for MRP and the MRP Foundation, I wanted to create something exciting and relevant to the modern woman’s life. This year’s collection is focused on activewear - bright, bold and energising prints for the street or treadmill. I feel incredibly honoured to have been asked to be an ambassador for the MRP Foundation. Seeing the work that they do and experiencing first-hand the positive changes the Foundation is bringing to children’s lives has stayed with me since my first visit three years ago and I hope to be able to further initiate change.”
Henry Holland’s exclusive range for MRP will be available in Mr Price stores and online at mrp.com from 24 November 2014. I for one am so excited and will definitely be one of the first ones in line to get my hands on this amazing collection.
